At the age of six, surfer/model Alicia Garis was cursed by Cupid. The rules. Before her twenty-fifth birthday, she must find her soul mate. Feed him poisonous berries. Hope to Hades he doesn’t die. Except she tried that once and it ended in the death of a man she loved
Ravaged by guilt, she told the winged freak where to shove his heart-tipped arrows and promised herself she would never offer the berries to anyone ever again. Until she meets Theo Castas. Playboy photographer and master at talking-a-girl-out-of-her-panties. A man who sends her rage-o-meter deep into the red zone. The real-life version of the dream man Alicia believes could break her curse.
But will Alicia break her promise — and risk Theo’s life — all to save her own heart?

People have heard the expression that those in love have been shot by Cupid’s arrow. Alicia Garis, a competitive surfer and sports model, has a much better idea of what Cupid is capable of as she has been under his curse since the age of 6. If she doesn’t find her soul mate and feed him poisonous berries by the age of 25, she will live without the gift of love for the rest of her life. Having thought she had found her perfect match once, Alicia was responsible for the death of her fiancé…and she vowed to never put another person at risk. Despite her plans, life in general falls apart when she meets photographer Theo Castas. He is obnoxious, a player, arrogant…and quite possibly the man of her dreams.
This short work by Jenn Windrow hits all the marks I expect a paranormal romance to hit. The element of the supernatural is very present but doesn’t overwhelm the story. The characters have believable dialogue and the necessary tension between them. Other works are referenced but aren’t necessary to get a complete story out of the novel. But most importantly, this work is a fun and engaging read.
I'd loved the two previous books, so I was more than a little excited to get my hands on this latest installment in the series. This one is more like the first book in that it’s more of a straight-forward romance with some paranormal elements. Yet, like the second book, it’s also more serious in nature. You can witness the sparks between Alicia and Theo from the very first moment they’re introduced to one another. And the sarcastic sniping and back-biting carries them through most of the book. Occasionally this pair left me dizzy with their push-me/pull-you dynamic that had them swinging from lust to loathing and back again – it was never as simple as love and hate. Add in the vengeful plotting of a bitter, jealous ex-best friend and the drama quotient goes up another notch. I loved seeing both Alicia and Theo learn how to come out from behind the fortresses that protected their hearts and were able to see one another for the lovable human being they were behind the masks.
I absolutely loved this story! I couldn’t put it down! Alicia is a surfer/sports model. She has been cursed by Cupid. From the time she was 6 she’s known that she has to find her soul mate by her 25th bday and feed him the berries that are left on her pillow every morning or she will live a life without love. In Alicia’s dreams she has her idea guy. He is perfect and they meet every night under the willow tree. Alicia’s agent tells her to meet at her office one day for an amazing opportunity to work with the photographer Theo. She thinks they can take each other to the next level. In walks Theo, drum roll please....... he is the spitting image of her dream guy with the one exception of being an arrogant ass. They clash but end up working together. The photos are beyond amazing. He’s hired to be her personal photographer for the surfing competition coming up. As they work together, they get closer and dream Theo starts to fade away. She’s afraid of the curse because of something that happened in her past. True love prevails ~ I love the ending! I highly recommend this story!
